0:42 Hello, I am David and welcome back to this Liberty Minute on this election day 2024. Today, we American citizens will vote again in a presidential election, and recently these every four year presidential exercises have become more intense, especially since the election of 2008, when Barack Obama unleashed a cultural revolution upon the land. The United States hadn't seen this type of a cultural revolution since the 1960s, which ended with the 1972 election and the defeat of George McGovern.

1:26 In that election, the radical left was soundly defeated, but in 2008, the radical wing of the Democratic Party won big, and the aftermath has been an escalation higher and higher with each passing presidential election. Mitt Romney didn't understand what the fight was all about in 2012. , and Donald Trump frankly understood what the fight was about in 2016, but could not slow that revolution at all. He did do two things quite well, though he got the American economy off its back and moving again, which was an important first step then and now, and he didn't stop the Cultural Revolution which began in 2008, but he did expose it.

But, like I said, this election is about big things Overall the direction of the country with respect to rule by experts, which we have addressed here many times but we will also cover here shortly.

3:12 That's the overall big idea of this campaign. It's progressivism on steroids for the last hundred plus years and we will see if we go a different direction as a country and hopefully we will do so in a big way. Hopefully, with a three to four percent defeat of the radical Democratic Party who is addicted to these leftist, socialist, progressive policies, we will start off in a new direction. Americans are very, very unhappy with the direction of the country splitting some 28%, 72% to 73% almost unheard of. Yet there's also specific issues, as come with every presidential election.

The country will choose either more of the same, and the latest job numbers of only 12,000 jobs in the most recent month of October, which will likely be revised down, means we are likely in a recession. So if a country chooses more of the same, it will be very disheartening. For the last 25 years, not either party save for Trump from 2018 to 2019, got the economy humming. George W Bush didn't do it, barack Obama didn't know how to do it and Joe Biden didn't even know what was going on.

4:46 He was the worst of them all, and now we know. Kamala Harris is just completely over her head Now. A second major issue in this campaign and we have devoted a whole episode to it in prior podcast is illegal immigration. You just can't let in some 20 million illegal immigrants who have broken the law the first time they stepped foot on our soil and think there's going to be no blowback in this country. That is just absurd. We've never absorbed that many illegal immigrants in such a short time, and we will have to deport these lawbreakers, and we have to do so in a big way, either beginning with the election of Donald Trump or in the near future.

5:40 Now there's two other big items that we should address in this podcast from a very high level that the fundamental mores of our constitutional republic are under assault like they've never been before. Court packing is one of them. The radical democratic party wants to pack the court and has said so and repeatedly done so in the senate judiciary committee, trying to pass legislation from all different angles to pack the court. They also want to end the 150-year-old practice of the Senate filibuster, which was there instructed to help protect minority rights and allow cooperation in that bonded body.

6:29 Now there's many more fundamental mores of our constitutional republic that are under assault Electoral College comes to mind but we will not talk about them here. Today is election day and the American people need to speak with one voice on the direction of the country. But there's one other big item that we should address. But there's one other big item that we should address. The relentless propaganda from the mainstream media and legacy press frankly has been unimaginable. Sure, in the past they were certainly biased, but now they just speak complete untruths with no shame.

7:19 They will just lie directly to your face repeatedly, over and over and over this election cycle. The mainstream press and legacy media might have dug their own coffin. Podcast and citizen journalism is now far more trusted and far more effective at finding the truth. And we have to say just a shout out to Elon Musk. He has single-handedly restored freedom of speech to the digital world and to social media. That will have to be unpacked and studied for decades to come. So good on you, elon Musk. Now, three of these things are very big things.

7:59 The role by the experts' mindset has been ingrained in America since the progressive era under Woodrow Wilson and it was accelerated by FDR with no virtual pushback. Now these views are coming to a head. Will the American people take back their government from the so-called experts, from the administrative state? After 100 years of growth of that administrative state? We have seen horrific results COVID lockdowns, vaccine mandates, drs Birx and Fauci leading a COVID pandemic effort with absolutely horrible results. That can never happen, ever, ever again.

8:41 But even more than that, everywhere you look, the federal government has taken over in some niche or cranny of the American public life. How did it get this way? Well, it all started with the progressive era of government at the turn of the 20th century. America had built the transcontinental railroad, the telegraph, the telephone, and America was on its way of doing great things. It was like the science of government at the time and progressives said let the administrative experts in their fields find the best way to tackle this problem or that problem and we can all solve it together. And it was very hopeful, very, very hopeful.

9:23 But 100 years later and a lot, a lot of money, we now can look back and say it did not work and it, frankly, has not worked for a long, long time. Ronald Reagan got it right in 1980 when he said big government is the problem. He wasn't able to reduce that government. We have to take back our government for the people. Now all this is lining us up to do a deep dive in another podcast, but for now, on Election Day, for today's moment, americans have a great opportunity perhaps the greatest opportunity since Ronald Reagan in 1980, to change, to fundamentally change the course of government, our government consent of the governed.

10:25 Unbelievable, as I'm even saying this, that Donald Trump has built a unity ticket, a ticket with Robert F Kennedy Jr from the vaunted Kennedy family, long, long time Democrat stalwarts. Trump has built a unity ticket with Tulsi Gabbard, a Democratic congresswoman who ran for the Democrat presidential nomination in 2020. That's all hard to believe, but he got endorsed by Joe Rogan. Elon Musk has signed up. Just incredible what he's doing. He wants to reign in government efficiency Amen.

11:05 Thank you, elon, for stepping up and I actually trust him to do it. Vivek Ramaswamy, a fellow Ohioan who has a bright future. He is on the ticket and I must say, my own Ohio Senator, jd Vance, as vice president, has been incredibly impressive, has been incredibly impressive, incredibly normal and my gosh, incredibly smart. He's Midwestern normal, midwestern nice, but also Midwestern strong. He has a very strong backbone and doesn't take any crap. That's American. Gotta love you some, jd Vance.

Now, frankly, if African Americans come home to their rightful place in the party of Lincoln which they started out in, and if Hispanics come home to the party of limited government and free enterprise and family values, and if strong smartics come home to the party of limited government and free enterprise and family values, and if strong, smart women come home to the political party of normalcy and not allowing men and women's sports and not allowing the government to emulate our kids, if all those things happen, which they are appearing right now on the horizon to do just that, then the most remarkable, the most incredible comeback and, frankly, the greatest political campaign will have been won.

12:35 It will have surpassed Richard Nixon, it will have surpassed Bill Clinton, both as comeback kids in modern political history that all the political science majors study. I'm a poli-sci major and I studied it too. But the legacy of a man who survived two assassination attempts, a former president who had the major media against him for every day of the last nine years, at every single step, every single step, a man who withstood all the lawfare of five criminal and civil suits to bankrupt him, to dehumanize him, to prevent him from running for president again which is unheard of, which is very un-American this man, donald J Trump, will have made history, and the American people will have made history for correcting a lot of evils that had happened over the past nine years.

13:35 So what will we do? What will the American people do In today's Liberty Minute? Let Americans, let all American citizens, come out and vote. Let us have a free, fair and an election with complete integrity. Let liberty rain down on this incredible country. Let those drums of liberty bang so loudly. Let American exceptionalism rise from the ashes and let this be a golden age of human flourishing, a golden age of American flourishing and, most importantly, let God shed his amazing grace on thee let's go vote Donald J Trump, the 47th president of the United States, and let's take America back and give it to the people once again.
